After a long, long night of restless sleeping we got up super early to get on our flight from Dallas to Toronto. We arrived and it was drizzling with rain. We didn't feel any better when the almost
Iifeless immigration guy was beyond rude to us.
When we got to our hotel, however, everything changed. A big, beautiful old building with old stone pillars lining the walls and crystal chandeliers lighting the big entrance hall. The building was previously used to accommodate the national bank of Canada.
Today, we all slept in until about 10, and yet we were still tired when we woke up. For this reason, we thought it would be good if we just moseyed around with the most minimal amount of walking possible. We went up to the markets which were cute and interesting, but nothing special. Fortunately, we found a coffee shop that sources their own beans, and also does breakfast and juices. There were bagels with cream cheese and jam and fresh juices all around, and a coffee for mum which she described as extraordinarily amazing. After having to put up with "Urgh, Starbucks" for a few days, we were all very happy.
Tonight, there was a Screen Australia which dad said we must go to. After putting up with the smell of liquor and cigarettes for an hour, Mum, Jed and I hitchhiked across to a restaurant called Loose Moose that we had heard about. I ordered tacos, which were very flavoursome, and very very spicy. Mum and Jed ordered mini Sliders and a salad which was very hard to order. Mum ordered very shyly "I'll have the Big Bitchin' Green salad please." The 'server' didn't lift an eyebrow.
