We tackled the subway straight up. Day one. C train to West 4 then the F train to midtown to go up the Empire State. Against our better judgement we bought tickets from one of the many street sellers before we got there. They really convinced us we were getting a great deal and potentially it could have been. However, after the first "sky ride" event included in the ticket turned out to be a cheesy simulated joy flight film of a flight over New York city narrated by (of all people) Kevin Bacon. We hotfooted it up to the observation tower to make the most of our tickets and take in the view just as a thunder storm blew in covering the city in fog and requiring all visitors to immediately exit the observation deck so as not to be struck down by lightening. Our attempt at embracing our inner tourist was not really going too well.
Lunch at Korea town cheered us up followed by a visit to Rach's work at the very slick BBC America.
