My legs are starting to feel the strain of all the cycling. Especially when I ride with Carla because she races along weaving and ducking in traffic and I'm a bit of an old nervous nelly trying to keep up;)
We rode to the Bauhaus museum today. Bauhaus was a movement that began in Germany in the 1920s. After the first world war there weren't too many supplies so people within Bauhaus wanted to make things that were sustainable, functional, used materials on hand and were beautiful. The Bauhaus had a huge influence on art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design and typography.
The Nazis ended up shutting the movement down but lots of the Bauhaus members fled to other parts of the world so it's influence was widespread.
After oggling at all the beautiful design we visited a community garden set up in what used to be an old empty block of land. People grow herbs and veggies and there are a few cafes and people just sit in the sun and enjoy the peace. Carla got a tea that you go and pick your own herbs for.
Next stop was an amazing Turkish wrap from a street stall. Delicious. We then checked out some street art and cycled slowly home to rest our weary legs.
