Bed time folks and I'm full and tired.
Big day walking and soaking it all in. Went to small markets, amazing cheese store, divine "cream puff" shop, second hand stores, opulent OTT department stores, chocolate shops like you've never seen before, took a boat down the river Seine to the Eiffel tower, got off at Notre Dame Cathedral on the way home, ate snails and fois grais and steak and pomme frittes. Another magical, exhausting day in Paris.
LYTTMAB
Oh also .... Notre Dame means "our Lady" in English and it was built in the memory of Mary, mother of Jesus.
They started building it in 1163 and held the first mass in it in 1345. Much of the work was done for free by the people. They had a special contraption that they tread on like rats to lift the stones up. That's what made many of them hunchbacks and hence the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
So there you have it!!!!
