I ordered a baguette in French in the boulangerie today and the guy started speaking French to me which startled me somewhat!!! We ate the bread this evening with some lovely champagne and beautiful cheese and fresh strawberries. Magnifique!! Went to a bistro for dinner and had beef bourginion (I know I'm eating all the cliched French fare but I just wanted to try it). Without appearing too boastful I would like to say I think I could have cooked it better. The dessert on the other hand was a delightful Creme brûlée (again with the typical French dishes). So that was a rather large dinner to give us sustenance after a busy day looking at modern art at the Pompidou Centre. A lot of the art is rather curios and ordinary (see photo of house brick, skate board and teddy bear ) but some is thought provoking and entertaining.
