I'm sitting in the Cowshed having a lemongrass tea after a particularly exhausting day. The Cowshed is a rather lovely beauty salon and Rach is meeting me here after a day of meetings and we are having manicures!! Fancy!
I set off on the tube this morning after some trouble getting money out of my bank account. I thought R might have frozen the accounts so I didn't shop too much;)
I visited Katherine at the See Saw / Transmission office and sorted the bank situation out. Katherine gave some good tips on photographic galleries and shopping spots.
I was down to my last £2 so I decided to try getting money out again and the machine ate my card. Grrr. Luckily the kind woman at the bank got my card back and helped me get my hands on some pounds. Phew.
I made my way to Shoreditch which is an area in old London that was poor and rough but has been gentrified and is now very trendy. I went to a sweet market and then wandered up Brick Lane which is a famous street that has lots of Pakistani restaurants and more recently vintage cloths stores. The famous London rain set in so I bought a polka dot brolley and kept exploring. Visited a great underground vintage market and bought a heap of vintage scarves for peanuts.
.............. LATER IN THE EVENING.....
Met with Rach and her colleagues Danielle and Erin from BBC America. Had a lovely manicure and dinner at the trendy and exclusive Shoreditch House. Fun times but ready to crash now. Missing you all. LYTTMAB
