Helmut Newton and other adventures

Hey lads. Hope you slept well and are feeling a little more cheery today. Missing you all like crazy. We went on more hair raising cycling adventures today. Covered a lot of ground. Our destination was the Helmut Newton exhibition but we had lots of adventures getting there. We came across a part of the Berlin wall that was still standing, in the middle of the street with graffiti all over it and vines growing wildly on it. We rode past the Reichstag which is the old parliament house. We cycled through an enormous park with towering trees like a forest from a fairy tale.
We visited the memorial built for the memory of the Jewish people killed during the Holocaust. Very stark and somber with masses of different sized cement pillars. The autumn leaves were falling and it was a good place to say a quiet prayer for peace.
The Helmut Newton exhibition was fantastic. He is one of the best known photographers in the world. He was a renegade and changed fashion photography forever. He photographed lots of nude women which shocked a lot of people but Germans are famous for getting nude as often as possible and they are pretty relaxed about that sort of stuff. Helmut was married to an Aussie woman from Melbourne who became a photographer too. Interesting couple and great exhibition.
Made a yummy salad for lunch. Cheeses so fresh and cheap here as they are all from nearby - Italy and France are so close. Had best buffalo mozzarella salad and yummy truffle pecorino. LYTTMAB
